Connection Requirements

New connections to Aurora’s electricity distribution network must meet minimum standards to ensure the safety, reliability, and quality of electricity supplies; including the prevention of nuisance to other electricity consumers by the operation of the new connection.

These standards are defined in Aurora’s basic and technical requirements of connection, which may be viewed by clicking on the links below:

The latest version of Aurora’s Connection Application form is available below:

Capacity Change Requests

On occasion, consumers may need to raise or lower their connection capacity according to their electricity demand requirements. This typically occurs with commercial and industrial connections; however residential connections are not excluded.

The capacity change request form is available below:

Once you have completed the form, return it to the Network Connections Manager, at DELTA, who will arrange any necessary quotations for the work.

Distributed Generation

Small-scale generation is becoming increasingly prevalent, as the costs of photovoltaic generators (and others) decline. Additionally, the Electricity Industry Participation Code Part 6 is designed to facilitate the connection of small scale generation.

Aurora has specific requirements for the connection of distributed generation, which can be accessed by clicking here.

Mains Repair and Replacement

Consumers may require their mains replaced due to deterioration, or other mains work carried out. Under certain conditions, Aurora will share the cost of mains replacements.
