Reconductoring overhead power lines

Aurora Energy is undertaking significant investment in its overhead power lines.

We are partway through a major programme of much needed network investment which will continue for several years. Reconductoring is part of this investment and will see a replacement program focused on the lines that carry the power supply to your homes, businesses and farms.

Why is the upgrade needed?

We are working to improve the quality of our power lines (conductor) on the network. This will not only replace aging equipment and lead to higher quality supply for our customers but reduce the risk to the network, our contractors and the public.

What impact do these type of projects have on customers?

To do this work safely we need to temporarily disconnect power to local residents. We recognise the impact a significant number of outages has on customers. However, when undertaking this work, power outages must occur to ensure people working on the lines, and the public, stay safe.

Over the next 18 months reconductoring projects are scheduled to take place in the following areas. We will continue to invest in reconductoring projects such as these over the next five years and beyond.
