Keeping the lights on and the network safe during COVID-19

As a lifeline utility, Aurora Energy will be maintaining essential operations while New Zealand is at COVID-19 Alert Level 2.
Over the next few weeks you will see our crews undertaking increased work on our network. This will mean that we will need to schedule outages over the coming weeks but if we do need to switch off your power for any reason, then we will contact you well ahead of time. We continue to maintain our focus on safety and ask that you please stay well clear of field crews and keep them safe in their work bubble.
Our team is working hard to ensure all planned outages are well managed and there is minimal disruption to you and the community. Our Customer Experience team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so if you do experience an unexpected loss of power then you call us on freephone 0800 22 00 05 and we’ll get someone onto it as quickly as we can.
