Keeping the lights on and the network safe during COVID-19

As a lifeline utility, Aurora Energy will be maintaining essential operations while New Zealand is at COVID-19 Alert Level 4.
Our repair teams are standing by and ready for any faults or unplanned outages. Our Customer Experience team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so if you do experience an unexpected loss of power then you call us on freephone 0800 22 00 05 and we’ll get someone onto it as quickly as we can.
We intend to maintain high levels of customer service, with some changes to protect our people and the public:
- Aurora Energy has suspended all non-essential planned work while the country remains at Alert Level 4.
- We will continue to respond to emergency faults and carry out essential safety work on the network.
- If we need to turn your power off for essential work, your retailer or Aurora Energy will contact you.
We want to reassure all customers that Aurora Energy staff will continue to work throughout this period to keep the lights on when you need it most.
