Update 6 - Snow Related Power Outages - Wakatipu Basin: 19 September 2018, 14:00:00

Glenorchy township, had been cut off due to fallen trees on the road at Bob’s Cove, had power restored by 6:45pm last night.

Response crews are continuing work today to restore power to the remaining 11 affected customers in Paradise and Kinloch near Glenorchy.

More than 4,700 customers in Arrowtown, Frankton, Dalefield, Queenstown and Glenorchy areas lost power after fallen trees, snow-loaded tree branches and heavy snow played havoc with power lines. Response crews worked hard under very trying conditions to identify and repair equipment and power was progressively restored to most customers by Tuesday evening.

We’d like to thank those Wakatipu customers who were without power for their patience. If anyone is still without power please call Aurora Energy on 0800  22 00 05 and we will follow up.
