Mark the Occasion with Fast Charger Opening

19 September 2019
International Drive Electric Week is being celebrated in Dunedin with an official opening of the new fast charger in South Dunedin on Friday 20 September 2019 at 4pm.

Events are being held across the world to heighten awareness around the benefits of electric vehicle ownership.

Aurora Energy General Manager Regulatory and Commercial Alec Findlater said Aurora Energy was pleased to partner with ChargeNet to supply an additional fast charging station to the Dunedin Community.

“The charger at Pak ‘n Save in South Dunedin was recently installed and is a perfect venue for a celebration of the ownership and use of electric vehicles.”

Mr Findlater said, “Dunedin is leading the charge for electric vehicle ownership and we support the ownership and use of EV’s which is why we are pleased to continue our partnership with ChargeNet.”

ChargeNet’s brand new ‘dancing’ Tesla X will be on-hand for rides and EV owners ready to share their passion for electric vehicles. Anyone interested in learning more about EV’s is welcome.

Aurora Energy and ChargeNet have a partnership to extend the charging networks for electric vehicles in Dunedin, Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes. There are currently seven fast chargers on the Aurora Energy Network and another two on track to be opened soon.
