Road Closures Along Kawarau Gorge, State Highway 6

Aurora Energy is replacing five power poles and one cross arm along State Highway 6, starting from the Pearson Rd intersection on the outskirts of Cromwell, and spanning 9km towards the Roaring Meg power station, situated in the Kawarau Gorge.

There will be an increase in the number of vehicles in the area and traffic management in place. Please obey all traffic management signs and instructions.

We ask that travellers please factor in an additional 30 minutes to their travel time from Cromwell through to Queenstown, to allow for the various traffic management sites between Cromwell and Roaring Meg.

Please be aware there will also be helicopter activity in the area during this time.
