Tornado-Related Power Outage in the Cromwell area

12 January 2017
Last night, a series of small tornados cut power to some electricity customers on the Aurora Energy network in parts of Cromwell.

One power pole on the Aurora Energy network in Cromwell was downed due to a tornado that struck yesterday evening.

Initially several hundred customers in the Bannockburn, Cairnmuir, Hawksburn and Ripponvale areas were affected by the power outage. Delta was able to isolate the fault, but 37 customers remained off until the power pole could be replaced.

Power was restored to all customers at 10:36pm last night.
