UPDATE 3 - DUNEDIN FLOODING: 4 JUNE 2015, 8:00AM

04 June 2015
Power remains out to 160 Dunedin consumers due to flooding.

Aurora Energy advises that power remains out to around 160 Dunedin electricity consumers due to flooding damage to electrical equipment:

  • Power remains out to around 150 consumers in Woodland Avenue, Kinmont Crescent and Gebbie Street in East Taieri. Power was disconnected yesterday evening to ensure the safety of the public.
  • Power is out to around 10 consumers in Poulters Road (Leith Valley) and Shetland Street (Wakari).

Power will be restored as soon as water can be removed from equipment, repairs made and the power turned back on safely. We expect to have an indication of expected restore times once repair crews have reassessed the situation this morning.

Always treat all electricity lines and equipment as live at all times and keep well clear. Please call your electricity retailer’s faults number, to report problems with your supply.

We apologise for the inconvenience to affected electricity consumers as we take these necessary steps to ensure the safety of the public.
