The current status of power outages on the Aurora Energy network in Queenstown Lakes area following a fire on January 11.

The current status of the power outage on the Aurora Energy network in the Queenstown Lakes area following a fire at Rat Point near Bob’s Cove on Glenorchy Road on January 11 is:

  • Power was restored to all customers at midnight.
  • Delta lines crews worked through challenging terrain and difficult weather conditions last night to replace all power poles affected by the fire and completed the work safely.
  • With all repairs to damaged power poles complete, no further planned outages are required by Aurora Energy.

People using medical equipment that relies on electricity should ensure they are prepared for power disruptions and if there is an immediate health threat, contact their health provider or call 111.
