Update 3 - Power Restored after Storm Damage: 24 July 2017, 2:00pm

Power has been restored to all customers on the Aurora Energy network in Dunedin, Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes after severe weather caused power outages over the weekend.

We thank the exceptional efforts of our crews to get power back to customers in testing conditions. We also thank customers affected by storm-related power outages for their patience and understanding.

Dunedin

Power has been restored to all customers in Dunedin affected by storm conditions.

  • Following flooding, power was turned off to 21 properties in Otokia and Mclaren Gully Roads in Henley for safety. Power has been restored to customers in Mclaren Gully Road and State Highway 1. Customers in Otokia are currently being supplied by emergency generator while crews replace a damaged power pole. We expect to have power fully restored by the end of today (Monday 24 July).
  • Power has been restored to remaining 37 affected customers in Leith Valley Road. Land slips had slowed repair efforts.
  • Power has been restored to remaining affected customers in Bruce Road, Momona.
  • Power has been restored to the one remaining customer without power in Blanket Bay. Land slips had slowed repair efforts.

All power has been restored to customers in the Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes region affected by storm conditions yesterday (Sunday 23 July).
