Emergency response winds down as power restored to customers
26 October 2025This follows another full day of work to fix mostly single premises faults on the Dunedin network.
Extra crews brought in from Electronet, NES, Unison and Asplundh are starting to be stood down while Delta crews remain on hand to fix the last known faults. This will then return to a normal fault response from late tonight.
General Manager Future Network and Operations Matt Settle once again thanked the Aurora Energy contractors for their commitment to restoring the network to provide power to customers as quickly and safely as possible.
“It’s taken a mammoth effort from everyone to ensure customers across our network have access to the electricity they rely on following such a widespread damage to our assets,” he says.
“Thank you again to customers who showed patience and understanding while we worked to get the power back on. We’re grateful for the support and positive messages we’ve received since the outages began on Thursday.”
Mr Settle says events such as these are a good reminder for households and businesses to be prepared for power outages.
